Kinsey Wilson is Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer for NPR.

An accomplished journalist and seasoned executive, Wilson oversees NPR's worldwide newsgathering, programming, and digital operations. He is responsible for setting a vision for NPR's journalism, building effective partnerships with Member Stations, and helping define corporate strategy.

Under Wilson's leadership, NPR has thrived in a fast-changing media environment. He has charted an ambitious course for news and cultural coverage and is widely recognized as a leading innovator in the industry. He has driven editorial and product development to deepen NPR's journalism, adapt to changing audience demands, and to extend the organization's influence and reach. During his tenure in the top content job, NPR has received every major award, including the prestigious duPont-Columbia and George Foster Peabody awards.

Wilson was named to his current post in February 2012. He previously served as NPR's Senior Vice President and General Manager of Digital Media. Under his leadership, NPR redefined its digital strategy and dramatically expanded its online audience.

Before joining NPR in 2008, Wilson was executive editor at USA TODAY, where he played a key role in developing and leading the organization's digital strategy and overseeing its day-to-day news operations. He joined the organization in 2000 as vice-president and editor-in-chief of usatoday.com and helped define new standards for online journalism as he led the staff through coverage of major news events including the disputed 2000 presidential election, the 9/11 attacks on New York and Washington, the Iraq War, and Hurricane Katrina.

From 1995-2000, Wilson helped spearhead Congressional Quarterly's early web strategy, serving in a variety of senior management positions and later overseeing its daily news operations.

Wilson's journalism career began at Chicago's storied City News Bureau covering cops and working on the overnight desk. He was a newspaper reporter for 15 years, seven of them at Newsday.

Wilson serves on the board of trustees of the Poynter Institute and chaired the Institute's National Advisory Board from 2006-2008.

He was an early member of the Online News Association, serving as its president in 2007 and on its board for six years. He has also served as a juror for the Pulitzer Prizes in journalism.

Wilson graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in political science.
